Dear Ram families,
This week we have a couple musical events and several reminders to share with you. On Tuesday night we have our spring choir concert from 7-9pm at the Poway Center for Performing Arts and on Thursday night we have our 6th Grade Band Spring Concert from 7-8pm in the MPR.
On Thursday night from 6:30-8pm the Community Advisory Committee presents "Spring Parent Information Night" featuring John Rodrigues, author of High School Drop Out to Harvard. John will inspire you as he shares his inspiring story about struggling in school with dyslexia and ADHD. This event takes place at the District Office. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Registration has begun for PUSD’s Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) 2017 Summer Camps for students in Grades 1-8. Please see the attached catalog for the schedule and more information or go to www.powayadultschool.com and click on the YEP flyer on the left side.
Attention 6th grade families. Has your child received the Tdap vaccination? Proof of immunization is the first step of our registration process. All you need to do is make a copy of the immunization record and drop it by the health office or you can scan and email it to: firstname.lastname@example.org. I recommend you schedule a doctor appointment right away if your student hasn’t been vaccinated as appointments book up quickly if you wait until August. Students will not be allowed to register for 7th grade or attend classes until proof of vaccination is provided.
Parents, I need your help for this reminder. I understand the difficulty in scheduling appointments for your children, but when possible we really appreciate you avoiding checking your child out during lunch. Unfortunately, kids often forget to come to the office requiring us to try to find them out on campus. With 600 students out at the same time, this is often like trying to find a needle in a haystack. If you do need to pick up your child early, please call the 24 hour attendance hotline at (858) 668-2730 to request an early dismissal. This will help us to do a better job of getting them to you in a timely manner.
That’s it for now. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow; and remember, it’s a 6/2/4 day.
