Weekly Update

February 12, 2017

Dear Ram families,

Congratulations to the 2017 Twin Peaks Science Olympiad Team! Last Saturday, 63 students in our Science Olympiad Club competed against 1,500 middle schoolers throughout the county. Our teams brought home an impressive 16 awards in 11 different events. We are so impressed by the commitment and effort put forth by every one of these students this year. Great work, Science Olympians!

Students, this Tuesday, we will be participating in Operation Beautiful by promoting #loveyourselfie! Spread love and kindness by sending deliberate words of encouragement to others. In honor of this day, we ask that you wear red and pink and come to the quad to participate in activities that promote self-confidence.

As you know, Chelsea’s Run is coming up next month, and we are halfway to our goal of 100 team members by February 20th to receive custom t-shirts. Time is running out. Please show your Ram pride and join us now. Follow this link to sign up: Be sure to click "Join a Team" and select "Twin Peaks" from the drop-down menu.

I’ll close with a heads up for next school year. The staff here at Twin Peaks is committed to building time for professional learning and teacher collaboration into our schedule for next year. Every other school in PUSD has some sort of time for this important work. Some schools have a late start, others have an early release, some have minimum days and others have both. We are currently discussing our needs and the various schedule options available to us, but want to make you aware as we know this will impact you, our Twin Peaks community. We appreciate your support of this effort to help improve the instructional program we provide for our students. We will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available.

That’s it for now. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow; and remember, it’s a 5/1/3 day.
